audio-visual sonic sculpture
This sounding sculpture processes an artificial voice through melting ice. Microscopic connections between voice and ice emerge, played back through headphones. The listener experiences an unfolding process in which voice and matter dissolve into one another. As the ice slowly melts, the voice distorts and warps, creating a tension between the organic and the synthetic.
The experience questions perceptions of reality, drawing the listener into a dialogue between the physical and the artificial.
